JIF peanut butter is actually safe for dog consumption as there is no xylitol in it. A lot cheaper alternative to the “dog” peanut butter they try to sell you.

What about canned peas?

Peanut butter can be made at home with just peanuts. Put them in a blender on a low speed and as they break down into smaller pieces you can turn the speed up. That’s it. That’s peanut butter. Delicious for you and the dog, and nothing unnecessary added at all.
I’m not in the US so it boggles my mind that sweetener is even added to peanut butter! Switch to the real stuff (maybe you can buy it in stores there?) and you’ll not look back.

Homemade peanut butter definitely tastes better if you add salt and sugar (or sweetener). Just don’t do so if you want to feed it to your dog
