Bulgarian Woman Rescues Stray Dog Who Was Freezing To Death After A Snowstorm

Bulgarian Woman Rescues Stray Dog Who Was Freezing To Death After A Snowstorm

Ellen Wilkie February 27, 2021

Stoyan and Dessy is a Bulgarian couple that has dreamed of building a shelter. They have a soft spot in their hearts for stray cats and have taken in many of them. They don’t have an organization and mostly spend their own money for their rescues.

But one day, after a big snowstorm, they chanced upon a stray dog. He was almost frozen to death, and they couldn’t find it in their hearts to leave him outside to die.

Freezing

For two days, the couple’s home in the mountains was covered with non-stop snowing. And after a particularly heavy snowstorm, the streets got closed and there were several feet of snow everywhere. No vehicles can move and everything was at a standstill.

Stoyan and Dessy’s supplies were running out, so they had no choice but to walk to the nearest convenience store. Stoyan took out his heavy coat and took the slow walk through the slippery and almost knee-deep snow-covered road. Along the way, he saw a small dog, lying down and tucked in like a ball of fur. He was covered in snow and freezing.

Stoyan rushed back to their house and got a blanket. he also Dessy to come and help him rescue the dog. When they got to him, they laid out the blanket so that they could wrap and him and bring the dog back to the warmth of their home. But when Dessy held her hind leg to put her in the blanket, the dog suddenly yelped and tried to bite her hand.

It seemed that the dog hurt his leg and was reacting to the pain. They had to completely cover him with the blanket so he wouldn’t bite.
Back in the house, they unwrapped the stray and placed him near a heater. But despite that, he was still shivering.

To help warm him up faster. Dessy took a hair blower and blew hot air all over him. And when he finally stopped shivering, they gave him some sausages to eat.

The very next day, they took him to a vet to have his leg looked over. After receiving some treatment, they started to figure out where he came from. Using social media, they discovered that he was an abused dog that was abandoned by his previous owner.

Luckily though, while they were doing their search, people found the dog adorable and started offering their homes. And soon enough, he was adopted by a Russian woman who lived 200 kilometers away.
