You can never ignore dogs’ natural inclination to keep their humans safe. And some pups even do this for strangers!
A stray pup in the country of Georgia has decided to appoint itself as a traffic officer. And through this self-elected duty, it’s able to help young school children safely cross the road. It even barks at motorists who ignore the pedestrian lane.
A furry hero of school kids
A number of clips show the black and white pooch running down the street after noticing that a group of kids is waiting at the curb. It then walks up and down the pedestrian lane once the school children start walking, evidently guarding them.
When a van shows a sign of movement, the dog starts to bark and stands its guard between the vehicle and the crossing. It waits for every kid to cross the road before stepping aside.
The clips are captured in Batumi City, the second-largest city in Georgia, by a denizen named Bega Tsinadze. Apparently, the dog lives in the neighborhood and is fondly called Kursha.
The dog was clearly dedicated to its job
The dog has an unparalleled dedication to its job, as it shows up every day on the road. He’s pretty strict, too, as he barks at vehicles that don’t stop.
The clip that shows the pup’s being hard at work has over four million views on Twitter. This is after the video has been shared by an online news outlet that shares positive stories.
The video has also racked up thousands of likes and retweets. A lot of netizens have even commented. One says that dogs are arguably the greatest creatures on Earth. Another wonders, though, why the lovable dog has no home.
Some commenters have even shared similar experiences, with one saying that a dog used to run to him/her every day after school at the same intersection. The same dog would even walk the person home. How sweet!
