Mine starts in the crate, wakes at 3am to potty, then doesn’t want to go back to the crate and I’m too tired so I let him sleep in bed. This just started a week ago and he’s 13 weeks. Going to work harder on this.
How To Train A Dream Dog
You’re on the right track. If you can work on it now, when it’s a new habit, it would be best. You risk undoing his crate confidence altogether if you keep letting him in bed at this time in his life. A little later down the road would be better!

Thanks for watching! 🐶 What questions do you have when it comes to your puppy sleeping in your bed?

We luv the crate for our girl it provided security and she choses to sleep in there when she wants and if she’s upset she will use it. She’s over 2 years old now.. this made the decision to crate train our new 10 week old very easy due to having multiple pups and we found that it helps potty training also. Deff excited to see some crate games because there are a few different times in the day he’s not enthused about being in there.

Yep, those crate games will really help those daytime naps, or when she needs to be in the crate when you leave the house. They are in our mini course and are great for dogs of all ages. https://courses.howtotrainadreamdog.com/crate-training-course

I’d love to have Poppy sleep in our bed, but my husband was a hard “No” on that topic. So we went with crate training and have kept with it. She sleeps cosily in her crate and we sleep cosily in our bed 🥰

My 15 week old Lab puppy sleeps in crate during night time. But during the day he also sleep in his raised bed and sometimes he prefer to go to the Sofa bed too. He is with me exactly one month and during this time I also slept with him twice by his crate side and one night we both slept on the sofa bed. He don’t have issues to go back to create next night.

It broke my heart every time I’d put Indiana (Australian Shepherd) in the crate because I was used to my 4year+ dog (Australian Shepherd) sleeping with me with no problems. Indiana was potty trained and neutered (1 year old) so I let him sleep with me. It was great! For awhile…those 3 AM snuggles were not cutting it for me so we have gone back to the crate and I have to resist those puppy eyes. Not to mention he got it in his head he was grown and was finding more ways to be mischievous and chew things he shouldn’t. He’s definitely an oral dog too so he’s got one blanket and I’ve yet to trust him with a dog bed again since he destroyed 2 out of 2. I’m hoping as he gets older maybe he’ll chill out and can be allowed in the bed again to sleep overnight without waking me up at 3 AM.

Sounds like you made the right decision!

@How To Train A Dream Dog he is really good about being in his crate with minimal fuss but I know he doesn’t like it. I have to lead him in on leash because he will not willingly go in unless I guide him. Once his fate is sealed he accepts it lol
