A middle-aged couple from Korea was stunned one day when they realized that their dog stayed inside a tunnel for most of the time. It’s as if she turned into a mole.
Several days before that, they noticed her digging the ground, but thought she was just playing. As it turned out, she was planning to stay there.
The hole had an exit and entryway. And it was dug underneath a cemented pathway. It seemed strange to them why she would do it. She had a perfectly good doghouse where she could be warm and comfortable.
What they discovered, later on, shocked them even more.
With their curiosity piqued, they decided to see what was inside the tunnel. What they found were seven small pups. It was the second time their dog, Yebbi, had a litter. The first ones were all adopted.
This got the couple thinking. When their pet had her first litter, she didn’t dig a hole when she gave birth. Why did she do it this time?
The only answer they can give was that maybe she didn’t want anybody to know that she gave birth again. She probably missed her babies and wanted to protect them. If they were hidden, then no one can take them away from her.
This broke their heart.
To make sure that the new puppies were safe, they called a vet to have them checked on. One by one, they took out the pups and laid them on a blanket.
The vet was surprised that the puppies were extremely healthy and well-fed. He said that Yebbi nurtured them a lot. After their check-up, the dog took her puppies and brought them back to the hole.
The kindhearted couple then decided to take care of the pups and not have them adopted. They built a roof over the tunnel to keep them from being wet. They also laid out a bed for the puppies where they can stay comfortably. And this time, the family wouldn’t be torn apart.
