This is a great video, thank you so much for sharing! Our new puppy (which comes home with us on 4/25) is a Pyrenees/border collie mix. She will be about 8 weeks old. Since meeting her last weekend, I’ve been in full on puppy prep mode. Watching videos like yours helps to ease the anxiety of what’s to come. I even inputed the puppy schedule in my Timely app to help me stay on top of her needs. Thank you again!

Thank you so much! My puppy is coming home soon and I want to help him grow into the best well-adjusted dog he can be. There is so much to teach him and I have been so worried about planning training time, whether I would end up giving him too much at once so he doesn’t absorb it, or not nearly enough. Your videos have really helped me plan everything out more and relax a bit.

Lindsey M. when are you getting him? or have you already got him? if so how is he going!

Hi Michele! Thanks so much for all the great content. I have a question about potty training and I am hoping you can help. I have a paved backyard, which is fenced in and accessible through my bedroom (so convenient for middle of the night potty breaks) and I am hoping to establish this as the potty spot for my new puppy. However, I am concerned that the pup won’t like/or understand that this is where they are supposed to use the bathroom because they are used to going on grass. If so, do you think it would be better to establish the front yard (grassy area) as the potty spot? Thanks in advance!

I just brought my shih tzu puppy home and im have the exact opposite problem, i cannot get her to go on grass she only prefers the cement, as shes not used grass, in general even

Subscribed! I’m pretty good with dogs but puppies are a new ballgame for me. Learned a lot in this one video. I will be watching the rest of them and looking into all your workshops and links. Thank you sharing great content. I have two Plott Hound/lab mixes coming home soon and they’re about a couple months old. This has been helpful.

Hi Michelle! You’re videos have really helped me. I am about to get a 2 month old puppy in 3-4 days and I want to train him the best I can.

Hi Michelle! I have a question re the crate. Do I keep it in the bedroom so I can hear the puppy when she wakes up at night? Should I move it to the living room during the day or should the crate stay in one place and I set up a playpen in the living room? Thank you! 🐾
Justina Aigbogun
Put a playpen in the living room and put the crate in your room

Hi, thanks for these great tips! I have a question – you say in one of your videos that pee pads are an absolute no no as they give the wrong signals. We’re about to get a miniature dachshund and we live 5 flights of stairs up in an apartment. We’ll be taking him outside as much as possible but thought that pee pads would be a good back up if we don’t make it downstairs in time / he needs to go in the night. What are your thoughts on that? Thank you so much!
Abby P
Hey! We just got a puppy… we use pee pads at night and take him outside during the day. During the night, we take him out of the crate and put him in the pen with pee pads on the ground and he pees every time!

I love this channel. Very informative, to the point and Greta, simple tips 😱 I never thought about that “word association/commands” one. Thanks 😊 and it makes total sense 👌

Just found your content – Shared a time stamp with my partner about the word association and we were both flawed, such a simple concept that we have seen used wrong with most dogs we have met.
Subscribed and will be going through all your content!

Michelle, thank you so much for your generosity of knowlegdge and wisdom on all things puppy. It’s been over 20 years since we’ve had a puppy in our home, so I’ve been binge-watching your videos in order to refresh my memory and acquire all sorts of new tips. Our puppy, Lily the Lab, arrives this week and I think (with your assistance) I’m as prepared as I can be. I know it’s not going to be easy, but it’s going to be so worthwhile! Thank you! : – )

so glad I came across this video.. I’ve been exhausted getting up during the night to let him use the pads. I tried to take in so much information and got overwhelmed so I took a step back from watching them for that reason. I never knew it was this much work!
