This works! I followed this when I got my puppy in May and had his crate on a bench next to my bed for a few weeks. He never cried once, never had an accident. I did give him soft bedding but it worked for us. I also highly recommend putting a Snuggle Puppy with the heartbeat in with them. He’s now 9 months old and has always been an awesome sleeper!

Never heard of snuggle puppet! Awesome!

I did this and my dog would wake up and be ready for the day anytime I rolled over lol.

For the first two nights, my puppy was more than happy to sleep in her crate next to my bed all night long with no issues. The next night and every other night thereafter she would cry and dig at the bars for hours (has no problem sleeping in her crate during the day, however). Finally, my sleep deprived self just let her snuggle up next to us in our bed and we haven’t had any problem getting sleep since. I feel like I’ve made way too many rule compromises with this dog, but I got to do what works.
