Before you get a puppy, most people have a pretty good plan in place. Once the puppy comes home, that plan can fall flat on its face in that first week of puppy training. But it doesn't have to. In this video, we sit down with brand new puppy owner, Nancy. Watch as we help Nancy out and give her some tips on how to succeed in her puppy training moving forward.

if you are training a dog that doesn’t like to tug and you got them to tug, what is more rewarding; letting them win or keep trying to engage with them?

I’m one month in training my Norwegian Elkhound puppy and it is still overwhelming. There are so many ups and downs. She is very smart, sweet and sassy. I love her so much.💗

Nancy, you clearly are a beautiful person. I see so much on myself in you. I have been struggling with hereditary mental health issues all my life and currently have been diagnosed a mixed disorder. I’ve never had a dog , even though I used to bring home stray puppies with no permission as a child. I am now 31 and hoping I can get a doggy home this year. I feel like it’s such a responsibility that I can’t manage because I know nothing about dog training, but then I saw you and your will to give your puppy the best you can, including reaching out for advice on what to give that sweet lady the best life you can. I really trust you will be the best dog mommy and hope I will eventually be as well. I really wish you the best and hope you make the most out of your life circumstances. I really mean it, you are lovely.
