Shelby Koontz, a United States military personnel, is no longer a stranger to getting deployed to other places. But little did she know that her deployment in Syria would result in changing the life of a dearest dog friend. During her stay in Syria, Shelby met a stray dog. The pooch had an impact on her as well as her fellow soldiers.
The pooch named Rumi is a stray pooch when Shelby first met the pooch. According to Shelby, the pooch was harmless and kind to strangers. This is why she and her fellow soldiers decided to let the pooch join in their military base.
Shelby mentioned that at the military base, she got to know the pooch better. In her recollection, Shelby said that Rumi is a sweet and caring pooch. Although the dog was a stray, the pooch showed loyalty to their platoon, so Shelby built a good working relationship with the pooch.
Under their military protocols, stray dogs are not supposed to be inside the military camps. But when Shelby defended that the pooch is harmless as well as sweet, their platoon leaders agreed to keep the pooch.
According to Shelby, it did not take long for Rumi to get the approval of other soldiers. Aside from being a sweet pooch, Rumi similarly likes to be around people.
When they completed their mission in Syria, Shelby decided to bring the pooch with her back to the United States. But Shelby did not want to adopt the pooch. She wants to look for a potential family for the pooch in the US. Shelby said that she could not adopt the pooch because she is always away.
The solider then sought the help of a close friend to adopt the pooch for good. The unnamed friend agreed to Shelby and took Rumi for good.
