Owning a dog could sometimes be expensive. Aside from giving the pooch essential things like food and accommodation, there are unforeseen expenses that could come along the way. Zykirah Hilton was no stranger to this narrative when she needed a considerable amount of money to save her pooch, Scrappy.
According to Hilton, the pooch was perfectly healthy in his earlier years with Hilton’s family. Everything changed when the pooch injured his front right paw. Hilton said that she never saw the pooch in that kind of pain before.
The dog is Hilton’s best friend, so she could not afford to see the pooch wincing in pain. Hilton told her dad about the dog’s condition, but Hilton’s dad could not afford any medical care for the pooch. This left Hilton heartbroken because she could not do anything to alleviate her dog’s suffering.
This is when the time that Hilton sought the help of Jennifer Gallagher. Gallagher is the founder of Chick n’ Pups Canine Crusade. The young lady told Gallagher about what happened to Scrappy. Gallagher then agreed to meet the dog, so she could see whatever help she could offer.
Gallagher checked on the pooch as well as examined Scrappy’s injured leg. Since she knows nothing about injuries, Gallagher decided to bring Scrappy to the veterinarian. It was Dr. Jessica Loch of the Taylor Crossing Animal Hospital who attended to Scrappy’s needs.
Meanwhile, Gallagher knows that Hilton’s family could not afford any medical care. This is why she told Hilton that she would help them with the expenses. But to Gallagher’s surprise, Loch similarly helped with the dog’s expenses.
According to the vet, she received a letter from Hilton, narrating how much the pooch means to her. She took pity and responded to Hilton, saying that she would operate the dog’s injury for free.
